People Who Make a Difference: Mary-Margareht Rose: Sedona Icon
by Sakina Blue-Star

Rev. Mary-Margareht Rose is the Founder and President of the Earth Mother Father Healing and Meditation Center.  For nine years, it was located in West Sedona, and was a place of sanctuary for people from all over this country and beyond. Her compassion, wisdom, and gifts of healing and spiritual insight drew many seekers to her door; she is truly a Light Being!  She has long been a beloved presence in Sedona. The Center was an oasis of peace and serenity for those in need of guidance or healing energy, and she made everyone feel welcome. In late 2004, the property she had leased for almost a decade was sold, and she then conducted her Sunday Gatherings, classes and holiday feasts for two years in Cottonwood; but now, happily, this renowned Sedona healer is back in Sedona.

Rev. Rose teaches an Intuitive Energetic Healing class on Wednesday nights at 7pm, and is continuing to hold her Sunday Gathering with meditations, group healing, and “messages from your angels”. It is followed by a pot-luck, and then the people who want to, will dance.  See the Gatherings page for location. “I could see and hear angels since I was a young child,” said Rev. Rose.  “Family members doubted me, but my mom got the idea of asking me to show her where the angels were.  Then she could feel the warmth of their energy.”

At 19, Mary-Margareht was a ballet dancer, when she was struck with a crippling illness.  Doctors told her that she might never walk again. But through fierce determination and three years of relentless physical therapy, she regained the ability to walk, and even dance, again. I moved to Sedona in August of 1992.  I had already been appearing monthly at the Crystal Sanctuary of Rev. Gwen Richland,” said Rev. Rose.“She gave me very helpful assistance when I took over her place and established the Earth Mother Father Foundation there in February of 1997.”

Mary-Margareht    Rose listens carefully to her inner guidance, ‘that still, small voice within’ of which the Bible speaks. She sometimes feels the energy of Jesus in the healing room, and has had some remarkable experiences with healing sessions, and grateful clients. In the early years of her Center, Rev.Rose was constantly busy doing sessions there, being much in demand. She also traveled extensively, doing Playshops, giving readings, being a healing facilitator, and headlining Psychic Fairs. Mary-Margareht loves music, and loves to dance.  Her husband was a musician, and used to play in lounges in Los Angeles. Her daughter had a friend who loved to come over to their house to hang around the musicians and show people. Her name was Demi Moore, and she wanted to be an actress.

Rose is also an author, having written the book The Courage to Be Who I Am. Her father could be brutal when he was in an alcoholic rage, but her step-father was a very kind man, and her mother was wise indeed. When her adored grandmother died, the young Margaret saw her standing at the foot of the bed.  “Don’t cry,” the girl said to the rest of the family.  “Gramma’s still here.  She looks very young, and she said ‘Look!  I can stand straight! I don’t hurt anymore!’”
Like Allison DuBois in the popular TV show Medium, Rev. Rose can see those who are on the other side of the veil. Hopefully, Mary-Margareht will have her own spiritual healing center again. In the meantime, this remarkable, big- hearted, loving woman extends a warm welcome to visitors and residents of this wondrous place to join the Gathering on Sundays.
